Text reads: 'Reclaim the Economy Week, 26 Jan - 1 Feb 2026' with a red zigzag pattern at the bottom.

“Our economies are driving inequality and environmental devastation. Reclaim the Economy Week is a moment to unite to demand an economy that puts people and planet first.”

ECOnGOOD is joining the Reclaim the Economy Week 26 Jan – 1 Feb 2026. Here’s how you can join:

Quick wins

These ideas require minimal logistics and little to no budget is necessary.

  1. Spread the word: Share the international campaign in social media, contact a local paper, radio show, or broadcasting station – check these useful guides on how to do it. Post about your local initiatives USING THE #ReclaimTheEconomyWeek hashtag.
  2. Attend an event: in your area or online. Visit the official website and social media channels, or consult your closest ECOnGOOD Local Chapter or Association. Check the #ReclaimTheEconomyWeek hashtag.
  3. Create a forum: Mobilise your immediate network. Create spaces to invite speakers and discuss ECG topics. How can you put the ECG core values into practice in your community? How can you Reclaim the Economy?
  4. Start a book club: Read and discuss relevant literature. Some recommendations to get you started: Change Everything and This Is Not Economy by Christian Felber; Doughnut Economics by Kate Raworth; Licence to Be Bad by Jonathan Aldred; The Big Five for Life by John Strelecky.
  5. Join an international Hub: Do you have a special knowledge or skills that can serve the Common Good? Many ECOnGOOD groups are looking for support with specific events or projects. Some have open calls for members year-round, such as the IT Hub and the Faith Organisations Hub. More info.
  6. Become a member: Have you signed up as an official member of the ECOnGOOD International Federation, a Local Chapter or Association? Do it today to support an organisation committed to the wellbeing of people and planet.
  7. Support fundraising: We’re always exploring new ways to sustain and grow our impact, and we believe the best ideas come from our community. Share them with our international team at fundraising@econgood.org.
  8. Stay up to date: Sign up for an international or local ECOnGOOD newsletter, and follow us on social media.

Deep dives

These ideas require a budget and a bit more planning.

  1. Raise funds: Donate to the International Federation or to your National Association, or organise a local fundraiser event or campaign.
  2. Prepare an info session: Host an “open house” to welcome potential members to your Local Chapter or Association. Introduce ECG, ECOnGOOD, and your local group.
  3. Transform your local economy: Encourage local businesses or organisations to complete their own Common Good Balance Sheet or audit and connect them with the Auditors or Consultants Hubs.
  4. Host a gaming session: The game card “Objetiu Futur Sostenible” is available in Catalan and Spanish to set up a playful group dynamic focused on the common good. More info.
  5. Create a life for the Common Good: Gather a group, decide on individual Common Good-oriented goals and life-changing habits, meet regularly to keep each other grounded and accountable. More info.
  6. Host a screening: Watch and discuss movies, documentaries or short-films exploring alternative economies. Recommended: Purpose, a Wellbeing Economies Film.
  7. Mobilise your community: Create a Local Chapter or other safe community spaces, such as community gardens, Repair Cafes, swap parties (for clothes and accessories, furniture, electronics, etc.), or online groups in your neighborhood or town.
  8. Do your thing: If none of these suggestions convince you, maybe there is some event or initiative you have done in the past – or that you are already working on – that could be a perfect fit for the Reclaim the Economy Week.

May these ideas inspire you! Whatever you decide to do, however big or small, fill out this form to be included in the international calendar and share using the #ReclaimTheEconomyWeek hashtag.
